The Molineux Sleepout is back for 2025, with Wolves Foundation and the Good Shepherd joining forces with the aim of attracting a record number of participants bedding down for the annual fundraising challenge.

Now into its seventh year, over £250,000 has been raised from the Sleepout so far, helping both charities deliver their wide-ranging services across the city to support people experiencing homelessness and vulnerability.

This year’s event will take place on the night of Friday, November 14th, with participants again spending the night braving the elements and sleeping in the Stan Cullis Stand at Molineux.

This year’s Sleepout is being launched during Mental Health Awareness Week, reflecting the challenges which face many people in the city and the increasing work of the Foundation and the Good Shepherd across these areas.

And Early Bird tickets are now available, with an overall target to attract over 200 participants to the Sleepout for the first time.

“We are delighted to once again be linking up with the Good Shepherd to host what is a really powerful event, highlighting the positive impact we can have on those facing difficult and complex challenges across our communities,” said Tom Warren, general manager with Wolves Foundation.

“Wolves fans and residents from the city come together to forego their home comforts for the night, and, in doing so, raise vital funds and awareness to help their fellow residents who are experiencing some really tough times.

“It is always so heartening to be part of that atmosphere of people wanting to support others, and this year we are aiming to make it the biggest event yet so that the two charities can deliver an even bigger impact.”

Chief executive officer at the Good Shepherd Tom Hayden said: “The Molineux Sleepout is now a stand-out event in the Good Shepherd calendar, helping people experiencing homelessness and vulnerability across Wolverhampton.

“We are extremely grateful of our partnership with Wolves Foundation, and our involvement in the sleepout. The night raises important funds for both charities to continue to do their work within the city, including our street homeless outreach and support services.

“Last year we surpassed the £250,000 funding milestone from the six sleepouts to date – this year it would be great to hit a new milestone, of the most participants to ever sleep out at Molineux.”

Also present at the photocall to launch this year’s Sleepout were two participants who have benefitted from the work of the Foundation and Good Shepherd who have since gone on to make their own positive impacts across the two charities.

Bev Lockley started accessing the Foundation’s Head 4 Health group at the start of the year, and, now also attending Wolves Elders, is making crafts to donate to participants of Molineux Memories.

“Wolves Foundation means the world to me, and they have helped me so much over the last six months,” she said.

“I was in a mess emotionally when I first came to Head 4 Health in January, but now I am ‘me’ again, thanks to rebuilding my confidence and making so many new friends.

“Funding for groups like these are so important, to help people like me and others who are struggling, and that is why I now want to do whatever I can to support Wolves Foundation.”

Vicky Mosedale, a trainee keyworker at the Good Shepherd, successfully gained employment with the charity after completing the LEAP programme. LEAP is open to volunteers who have experienced homelessness, addiction and mental health challenges.

“I’ve been in my trainee role at the Good Shepherd for just over a year now and I’m absolutely loving it and going from strength to strength,” she says.

“I’m proof that recovery is possible, and am so grateful and appreciative of this opportunity to grow and make my family proud.

“As someone with lived experience of addiction and mental health issues I know the difference the funds raised from the Sleepout will make to people’s lives.”

New to this year’s Sleepout is an Early Bird price, a discount which is available from now until June 30th and also a group booking discount for schools and businesses.

The Early Bird price is £25 for adults with participants encouraged to raise a minimum of £100 in fundraising.  The price for those aged 13 to 17, who must be accompanied by an adult, is £10. Anyone interested in the schools or businesses package should email lauracahill@wolves.co.uk.
