A lifelong Wolves fan who only started running last September is taking on her first 10k as part of Team Foundation in this year’s Wolverhampton 10k.

Natalie Jarvis, a season ticket holder in the Stan Cullis Stand, set about doing couch to 5k to help build up her fitness, and is now training for the longer distance at the same time as supporting Wolves Foundation.

The club’s official charity are hoping to field a sizeable team of runners at the event in March to help fund a range of projects delivered across the city for people of all ages and abilities.

“I started running with the motivation of trying to get fit, like a lot of people, and after completing couch to 5k just felt more confident about going further,” says Natalie.

“I saw the Wolverhampton 10k being advertised and spoke to my cousin about it, who also runs, and just thought, ‘why not’?

“And all of a sudden, I found myself buying a pretty decent pair of running trainers!

“When I started looking into the event more, I decided I’d like to try and give a bit back by raising funds for Wolves Foundation.

“I have seen how much incredible work they deliver and support so many people in the community, especially in areas like mental health and disability sport.

“I think that’s so important.

“As well as that, being able to represent the Foundation and the club which I support is also something that is really special, especially with the event starting and finishing at Molineux.”

Training is progressing well for Natalie, who will be supported on the day by partner Matthew, their young daughter Sophie and her Dad, Pete.

Her cousin Sean is also travelling from Northampton to take part and show his support!

“It should be a great day and I’m really looking forward to it,” she added.

Foundation ambassador Amber Sandhu is also running for the charity and is encouraging more people to join the team, which is open to all ages and abilities!

“As a proud ambassador of the Foundation, I am delighted that my first challenge of this year is the Wolverhampton 10k,” she said.

“What better way for anyone who is taking part who wants to be part of a team than to come and join us in Team Foundation!

“If you’re thinking about it, why not give it a go, come and join us and help raise funds for such a fantastic cause, delivering life-changing work for people in our community.”
