Our Honorary Patrons/ Ambassadors

Robert Plant CBE is a lifelong Wolves supporter who has risen to the very top of the musical world as an iconic singer/songwriter, and frontman of rock band Led Zeppelin.

His 12 memorable years performing with Led Zeppelin created a legacy for Plant as one of the greatest and most charismatic singers in rock music and led to his induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995.

Away from the band, Plant also enjoyed a successful solo career, and has recorded and performed in collaboration with many different artists across many different genres, and is still doing so to this day. His continuing partnership with American Bluegrass Queen Alison Krauss has seen him strike out into a rewarding new era with multiple Grammy nominations and awards.

Football, and Wolves, has been a consistent throughout his life, through the good times and the bad!  He recalls, on attending his first match at Molineux at the age of five, legendary captain Billy Wright waving to him, and then, five-and-half-decades later, he was appointed as a club Vice-President.  He still goes to matches, home and away, whenever availability permits.

Plant, born and raised in the Black Country, has a passion and enthusiasm for helping his local community, and has supported many different causes over the years.

In April 2024, he became Wolves Foundation’s first ever individual patron, making a sizeable donation to benefit a number of the charity’s wide-ranging projects, with a particular focus around improving mental health.

Plant: “Wolves Foundation delivers so many important projects to help people in the local community and I am really pleased to be able to make a contribution to support that work.”

Beverley Knight MBE is a world renowned singer, songwriter and actress whom, despite her incredible success, has always remained fiercely proud of her home city of Wolverhampton.

Attending Woodfield Infant and Junior Schools and then Highfields, Knight grew up with a love of singing, forged largely though time spent as part of a church congregation and choir.

Her incredible musical talent, coupled with an unstoppable work ethic, has led to a career packed with so much success, including multiple MOBO awards and an Olivier Award.

Widely regarded as the ‘Queen of British Soul’, Knight is not only a much acclaimed solo artist with a string of bestselling singles and albums but also boasts some high level stage credits, including The Bodyguard, Cats, Sylvia and Marie & Rosetta.

She was awarded an MBE in 2006, having picked up an honorary degree from the University of Wolverhampton the previous year, and was awarded the Freedom of the City of Wolverhampton in 2018.

A very active ambassador and campaigner for many charities and good causes, including Christian Aid and the Terence Higgins Trust, Beverley became an ambassador of Wolves Foundation in February 2026.

Knight said:  “I am thrilled to have become an ambassador of Wolves Foundation.

“We have our ups and we have our downs, but we are one pack, and this club gives so much to the community and beyond.

“Wolves Foundation is the charitable arm of the club, and I see what it does for people. The care it shows, the impact it has on individuals, and the community it creates.

“I’ve been to the last couple of Gala Dinners where the stories I have heard are just incredible.”

Henry Searle, a lifelong Wolves fan born and brought up in the city, made history in the summer of 2023 by becoming the Boys’ Singles tennis champion at Wimbledon, the first from Britain to achieve that feat in 61 years.

Henry, who was actually with Wolves Academy as a youngster before focusing all his energies on tennis, played for many years at Wolverhampton Lawn Tennis & Squash Club, just next to the club’s Compton training ground.

And Henry returned to Compton Park following his Wimbledon triumph two years ago, bringing his trophy to show the players and management staff as well as enjoying a tour of the facilities.

Since his Wimbledon triumph, he has gone onto the men’s senior tour, playing in the Main Draw at SW19, as he looks to move up the senior rankings.

He became an ambassador of Wolves Foundation in June 2025, with a particular focus on helping with projects which offer sporting opportunities to young people.

“I feel fortunate to have been able to work hard and develop in a sport which I really enjoy, and I’d love to see as many young people as possible also given a chance to enjoy the many benefits of taking part in physical activities.”

Anna Morphet arrived at Molineux from Aston Villa as a teenager in 2018, and has since become a mainstay in the Wolves Women first team.

She was named captain in the summer of 2024, following in the footsteps of club legend Anna Price, who is already a Foundation ambassador.

In October of 2024 she was one of three first team players to become the first ever awarded contracts by Wolves Women, as the club continues to progress.

Having already supported Wolves Foundation by attending events such as the ‘Super Movers for Everybody’ project at the Compton Park training ground, Anna was announced as an ambassador at the Gala Dinner in November 2024.

Morphet: “I am really honoured to be an ambassador of Wolves Foundation and can’t wait to see the Foundation continue to grow.”

Karl Henry was born at Wolverhampton’s New Cross Hospital, brought up at Ashmore Park in the city and went on to captain Wolves to the Championship title and three subsequent years in the Premier League.

In seven seasons at his hometown club, Karl made 272 appearances in the Wolves midfield, scoring seven goals, out of a total of 574 career outings, and 11 goals.

During his time at Molineux, Karl always ensured the players worked closely in the local community and carried out activities for the club’s official charity, as well as organising various fundraising initiatives to support local schools and charities.

As a result, he was delighted to be asked to become the Foundation’s first official ambassador in April 2019, once again offering the opportunity to become heavily involved in the local community in which he grew up.

Henry: “Being from Wolverhampton and having played for the club for such a long time, it is an honour to be supporting the work delivered by the Foundation.”

Anna Price first started playing football at the age of eight, shortly afterwards joining Wolves and progressing through the age groups to represent the first team, making her debut in an FA Cup tie against Aston Villa at the age of just 15.

By the start of the 2019/20 campaign, she had chalked up around 300 senior appearances for the club, and had been captain for 11 seasons.

During her career so far she has been fortunate to have played not only at Molineux but also St James’s Park, Stadium MK and Valley Parade.

Anna has worked as a PE teacher at Thomas Telford School – where she was previously a student – for 13 years and is now also the Assistant Head of Key Stage.

She runs all the girls football at Thomas Telford from under-12 level through to under-18.

Anna has already participated in Wolves’ activities as a result of captaining the ladies team, and was delighted to become an ambassador for Wolves Foundation in September, 2020.

Price: “As a Wolves fan and season ticket holder who has played for the club since I was eight, it is a real honour to link up with the Foundation and I can’t wait to get started.”

Being made an ambassador of the Wolves Foundation in August 2019 meant that S-X, real name Sam, had come full circle, having worked in the Wolves’ retail department many years earlier as he was pursuing a music career.

From growing up in Warstones in Wolverhampton and attending Smestow School, S-X’s musical talent and fierce determination to succeed has seen him propelled to becoming a singer/songwriter and producer who has performed and collaborated with some of the world’s most renowned urban artists.

As well as releasing his own material, he has worked alongside the likes of KSI, D Double E and Childish Gambino.

S-X was only too happy to become an ambassador of the Foundation and is particularly keen to help empower the younger generation to achieve their goals and aspirations.

S-X: “Whether it is helping those that might be less fortunate or assisting people creatively. I just like seeing people’s faces when something pays off. The feeling of accomplishment is a real reward to me.”

A Wolves supporter and regular reporter on Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday programme, Johnny Phillips has also produced and directed three documentaries about Wolves for Sky Sports. The most recent of these, Wolves in China, chronicled the club’s successful tour of Shanghai in 2019.

Phillips also writes a weekly football column for the Express and Star newspaper and is a regular event host at Molineux. He has also written two books about football, Saturday Afternoon Fever and Bitten by Wolves.

He was delighted to become an Ambassador of Wolves Foundation in July, 2020.

Mark Rhodes hails from the Wolverhampton area and first started watching Wolves in the late 1980’s.

Having started singing in a band at school, and then doing individual gigs around the Midlands, Mark’s broadcast career launched with huge success back in 2003, when finishing runner-up in the entertainment juggernaut that was Pop Idol, following which he was paired with fellow contestant Sam Nixon a collaboration that forged a strong working partnership, both in music and television.

The duo boast a number one single – ‘With A Little Help from My Friends’  – and an extensive resume of broadcast credits, including Sam and Mark’s Big Friday Wind Up, Match of the Day: Can You Kick It, Junior Bake Off, TMi, Copycats, family classic Crackerjack and Top of the Pops Reloaded.

He has also supported several different charities during his career, and is a patron of the Whizz-Kidz and Kicks Count charities.

Mark was delighted to accept the invitation to become an ambassador of the Wolves Foundation, which was announced in July 2020.

Rhodes said: “Having been a Wolves supporter all my life I’m honoured to become an ambassador for such a worthwhile and important Foundation.”

Born in New Cross Hospital and spending her childhood in Codsall, Jacqui Oatley MBE is fiercely proud both of her support of Wolves and her Wolverhampton roots.

A leading figure in the world of the media and broadcasting, Jacqui boasts an extensive CV in reporting and presenting, including covering football for BBC Five Live and BBC Final Score, and hosting Euro 2016 and the 2018 World Cup coverage for ITV Sport.

The first ever female to commentate on a game for Match of the Day back in 2007, Jacqui was also the UK’s first female darts presenter, covering major tournaments for ITV.

She is an Ambassador for Women in Football, championing the role of women across the game, and was awarded an MBE in the New Year Honours in 2016 for services to broadcasting and diversity in sport.

Jacqui became a Foundation ambassador in July 2020.

Oatley: “The Wolves Foundation carries out fantastic work in educating and inspiring local people in order to improve their lives and I’m keen to help spread the word in any way I can.”

Mitch Lane is one of the nation’s favourite home cooks. Born in Bilston, and still living locally in Wednesfield, Mitch’s rise to prominence began during the Covid-19 lockdown in 2020.

The father of three’s budget meals and no-nonsense approach captured the country’s imagination and have seen his ‘Meals By Mitch’ TikTok account skyrocket in popularity.

Mitch now boasts 1.2 million followers on the platform, with over 500 million views to date.

His cookbook, Feed Your Family For a Fiver,  released in April 2023, was a Sunday Times bestseller, with the next instalment coming in 2024.

Mitch now regularly features on TV shows such as the BBC’s Morning Live to share his tried-tested recipes, as well as appearing at the BBC Good Food Show.

He said: “As a lifelong Wolves fan, to be here as an ambassador and able to try and make a difference is amazing. It honestly means the world and it’s a genuine honour.”

Amber Sandhu is a talented broadcaster who has progressed from volunteering with Wolves Community Radio to now working as a freelance across many different aspects of the BBC, and covering Premier League football for Sky Sports.

Her big TV breakthrough came as the lead reporter for Midlands Today at the Commonwealth Games, whilst, with her two sporting loves of football and cricket, she has reported and presented across a number of tournaments such as The Hundred, Women’s Ashes and Women’s Super League fixtures.

She’s a huge advocate of equality, diversity and championing and empowering women through sport, and became a Foundation ambassador in December 2023.

Sandhu: “To be a Foundation ambassador is even more special because I support the club, I can see the projects and all the work the charity is doing and I know it makes such an impact. To even be a little part of that and to help out where I can, is very exciting.”

Suzi Perry was born at RAF Cosford hospital in Shropshire and brought up in Wolverhampton, and is a lifelong Wolves fan who is a regular at Molineux cheering the team on!

Very much a proud Wulfrunian, she went to school, college and polytechnic in the city before embarking on a hugely successful media career which has taken her far and wide working for some of the world’s biggest broadcasters on many different programmes.

Currently heading up coverage on TNT Sports for the MotoGP World Championship, Suzi has previously delivered the same role for Formula 1 on BBC One, becoming the first ever female anchor to host the coverage.

Almost three decades of media work – the majority on live broadcasting – have also featured covering Royal Ascot, Wimbledon, the London Marathon, Trooping the Colour, the Olympics, the Great North Run and the Boat Race.

Away from sport, Suzi’s TV credits include presenting Treasure Hunt, the Gadget Show, Watchdog and the National Lottery.  She has also presented regularly on BBC Radio 2 and 5 Live, and penned columns for the Daily Telegraph and the Times.

Perry: “I have been an ambassador for different charities over the years but I also really wanted to get involved with the Foundation because it feels right.

“I want to be able to give back to Wolverhampton and to help wherever I can.

“With my work I feel that I am a storyteller predominantly, and if I can help tell the stories of Wolves Foundation, and front up some different projects, then I will be delighted to be able to help.”
