Wolves have become an official rewards partner for Better Health: Rewards, meaning fans using the app can now earn gift cards to spend in the Wolves Megastore.

The city of Wolverhampton was chosen by the Department of Health and Social Care and the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities to pilot the free Better Health: Rewards scheme, designed to see whether offering adults rewards and incentives will help them to eat better and increase their physical activity levels.

People aged 18 and over who live in Wolverhampton have the chance to earn at least ÂŁ40 worth of rewards just for making healthier choices, from money off shopping with retailers like Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Morrisons, Aldi, Argos and the Wolves Megastore, to cinema tickets, gym passes and discounts on days out. While stocks last, participants can also claim a free fitness tracker if they need one, which is theirs to keep.

Tom Warren, senior manager at Wolves Foundation, said: “Wolves and Wolves Foundation are really pleased to be partnering with the council on Better Health: Rewards. It’s an exciting campaign for the city to be involved in!

“At the Wolves Foundation, one of our key aims is encouraging healthier and more active people. Better Health: Rewards fits this perfectly and gives those who download the app that push they may need.

“Adding Wolves Megastore vouchers as an extra reward incentive is great to engage with our supporters, and we’d urge anyone to sign up and download the app before it’s too late!”

John Denley, Wolverhampton’s director of public health, said: “We’re delighted that Wolves have joined Better Health: Rewards as an official partner, giving people even more places to spend their rewards.

“We know this will be really popular with supporters, and so we are extending the deadline for a few days to give fans the chance to sign up for Better Health: Rewards if they haven’t already done so.”

He added: “Well over 25,000 residents have signed up to Better Health: Rewards – and many are already completing challenges and earning rewards. It’s really easy to get started – just head to your app store and download the free Better Health: Rewards app, set up your free account and sync it to your fitness tracker.

“Before you start earning rewards, you first need to complete the activities in your ‘to do’ list, including wearing and syncing your fitness tracker to the app every day for five days. Once you’ve done this, the first ÂŁ10 worth of rewards will be unlocked and the app will begin generating weekly personalised challenges for you to choose from, through which you will be able to earn more points.

“Please also remember that when you do any sort of physical activity you need to put the tracker in exercise mode so that it can capture your workout. And don’t forget to continue syncing your fitness tracker on a regular basis, ideally every day, so that you can complete your challenges.”
