In 2021 Wolves Foundation launched Feed Our Pack, an initial £500,000 project with the aim to help reduce the effects of food poverty and support residents of Wolverhampton who had been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The project was made possible by a £250,000 grant from the Premier League PFA Community Fund and a generous personal donation of £250,000 from former head coach Nuno Espirito Santo.
The cost-of-living crisis forcing more people to foodbanks and community shops.
Local primary schools identifying families struggling during half term.
Grants, generous donations and support from key stakeholders and project partners, as well as fan donations.
5792 distributed food parcels across the city to local primary schools.
133 tonnes of food distributed to the Wolverhampton foodbank network.
Holiday activity camps provide free breakfast and lunch to support children during the holidays.
One of the main functions of the Feed Our Pack project has been to continue to increase the volume of food being distributed by foodbanks and community groups to meet increased demands. We support a vast network of project partners that have vast knowledge and experience of providing food support and understanding the needs of their local communities.
With support from national food re-distribution charity HISFOOD we have so far distributed 133 tonnes of food to the Wolverhampton foodbank network which is equivalent to over 398,000 meals.
We have also been able to top up the amount of food being distributed thanks to Wolves fan donations at our Feed Our Pack container in the fan zone, open prior to every home fixture.
