Wolves and Wolves Foundation have extended their partnership with international circular economy specialist Reconomy.

The relationship dates back over 25 years and was deepened ahead of the 2022/23 Premier League when Reconomy became Wolves’ sustainability partner as well as back of shirt sponsor of Wolves’ women’s first-team.

The extended partnership continues the commercial relationship until the end of the 2023/24 season. It includes sponsorship of Wolves Women and will see Reconomy continue to support Wolves’ ambition to be leaders in environmental sustainability.

Early last year, Wolves launched its One Pack One Planet project, which has seen the club commit to being net zero by 2040, as well as addressing waste, protecting the natural environment and embedding sustainability across the club.

Reconomy will also become a Pack Patron of Wolves Foundation, making an annual financial commitment to the work of the Foundation which allows it to continue its vital work in local communities.

During the partnership, Reconomy has implemented various initiatives to increase the circularity of the business and improve the sustainability of matchdays at both Molineux and New Bucks Head – the home of the women’s first-team. This includes an ecommerce returns capability delivered by Reconomy brand ReBound and in June 2023, the partnership collaborated with Wolves to donate a brand-new girls’ football kit made from recycled plastic to a local Wolverhampton primary school.

Steve Sutton, facilities, safety and security director at Wolves, said: “Embedding sustainability throughout the football club is key to our strategy. We have made huge strides with Reconomy’s support recently but we want to go further and so we will continue to innovate to ensure fans can support their team in a sustainable way.

“Reconomy has been a loyal partner of the club for decades and we are excited to deepen this relationship as we strive to become a more circular business.”

Kieron Ansell, business development manager at Wolves Foundation, said: “We are delighted to add another business to our Pack Patrons.

“Reconomy has been a loyal partner of the club and the community so we welcome their continued support as we look to change lives in the Wolverhampton area. Its focus on circularity will be of huge worth as we deliver social value projects across the city.”

Paul Cox, founder director at Reconomy, added: Throughout our relationship with Wolves, its commitment to creating a more sustainable football club and matchday experience for their loyal fans has been impressive.

“We are delighted to deepen our commercial relationship with an organisation that shares our values and recognises the importance of increasing circularity to preserve our finite resource.

“We will follow their progress on and off the pitch closely and wish the men and women’s teams all the best for the remainder of the Premier League and FA WPL Premier Division seasons respectively.”
