It was about creating chances rather than content at the Compton Park training ground on Saturday as a group of Wolves fans took part in a football tournament to raise funds for Wolves Foundation.

The second ever Content Creators Cup, organised by Dave Milton – aka Dazzling Dave from Always Wolves TV – saw 10 teams battle it out in a competitive atmosphere in front of a sizeable crowd in the Academy Arena.

Wolves’ sporting director Matt Hobbs even popped in for a few minutes –  it’s fair to say he is unlikely to have spotted any stars of the future – but a fantastic event ultimately raised in excess of ÂŁ7,000 for the Foundation.

“It was wonderful to see the majority of Wolves’ top content creators unite for a friendly yet competitive seven-a-side tournament with the aim of boosting awareness and gathering funds to aid the vital work of Wolves Foundation,” explained Dazzling Dave.

“The Foundation makes such a significant impact, transforming lives and offering support throughout our city.

“The main aim of the day was to bring everyone together, take part, raise awareness for the Foundation and raise some money, and it was another brilliant day, with around 150 fans in attendance.”

The ten teams of content creators who were split into two groups of five comprised Always Wolves Fan TV, Wolves media, Wolves Foundation, Talking Wolves, the Wolves Report, WCR FM, Old Gold Pack, the Wolfpack, Wolves 77 Club and Wolves Fancast.

After progressing through to the knockout stages, it was Talking Wolves who went one better than when finishing runners-up in the inaugural competition, overcoming Wolves 77 Club on penalties after a tightly contested final.

“All of us at Wolves Foundation really appreciate the work of Dazzling Dave and his wife Emma in organising another fantastic event,” says Kieron Ansell, business development manager with the Foundation.

“It is such a creative idea, fitting of the fans’ status as content creators, and is so well supported not just from the players but a sizeable number of spectators who help create a really lively atmosphere.

“As a registered charity, fundraising is vitally important to help us deliver our work, and the money raised from the Content Creators Cup will go directly into our projects supporting people of all ages and abilities across the city.”

"A football club is so important to the local community, especially when you’re a one-club city like we are, and the Foundation’s initiatives and activities are second to none."
