Fans are being encouraged to help spread Christmas cheer during the festive season by contributing to Wolves Foundation’s annual Shoebox Appeal, which distributes presents to children across the community.

The Foundation collect donations of gifts from fans and different organisations within the city, and then pass them on to charities who support children who are not expecting to receive much this Christmas.

Gifts can be tailored towards specific age groups and can be dropped off at Molineux on the evening of Wednesday 11th December (5pm-7pm) or before the Premier League fixture against Ipswich Town on Saturday 14th December (12pm-2.45pm).

Campaign supporters Evans Halshaw Vauxhall are very kindly helping out by receiving donations at their Showroom on Bilston Road during opening hours from 25th November until 13th December.

“As part of our Supporting Our Pack campaign, we are pleased to once again be running our Shoebox Appeal, co-ordinating the distribution of presents to children who may be facing challenging circumstances this Christmas,” says Ollie Locker, senior health officer with Wolves Foundation.

“Supporters are always so generous in their donation of gifts, which always put a smile on the faces of children and their families during the festive season.

“We are working with many different charities and community hubs and groups who are organising Christmas events involving children so that we can make sure the presents reach the right people.

“We are also grateful for the support of local businesses, some of whom have had the idea of replacing their normal ‘Secret Santa’ initiative with bringing in presents to contribute to the Shoebox Appeal instead.

“Co-ordinating this Appeal is our way of helping families out at Christmas time, and the more presents we receive to be able to do this, the merrier!”

There are three ways to donate presents to be distributed via the Shoebox Appeal.

  • 25th November to 13th December: Evans Halshaw Vauxhall, 61-71 Bilston Road, WV2 2QH.
  • Wednesday 11th December: 5pm-7pm: Wolfie’s Den at Molineux
  • Saturday 14th December: 12pm-2.45pm: The Fan Zone at Molineux before the Ipswich game.

Different donations will be distributed to different age groups, as outlined on the attached flyers.

The Appeal is also being supported by Young Wolves, Wolves staff, Foundation pack patrons and other businesses and Premier League Kicks participants, who are bringing donations to a tournament.

For any questions, or if you are planning a donation but cannot make the drop-off dates and would like to fix an alternative time, please contact OllieLocker@wolves.co.uk
