Wolverhampton professional boxer Brandon Bethell is donating a percentage of his fight earnings to Wolves Foundation, the club’s official charity.
The newly turned professional has had a flying start to his career and is currently unbeaten in the ring with a 5-0 record, with his next fight taking place this Friday, at the newly opened venue Astoria in Wolverhampton City Centre.
Brandon expressed his love for his home city and what it means for him to give back to the club.
He said: “I am delighted, I’ve always been a Wolves fan and have held my season ticket since I was four years old, so to get involved with the Wolves Foundation is surreal.
“Especially with the fight taking place in Wolverhampton, it will be a really good night.
“I have been working hard, training three times a day, I feel ready, and I can’t wait to give back to the Foundation after all the brilliant projects that they provide for the city.”
This will be the second time that the athlete has helped raise funds for the Wolves Foundation, as he recently put down the gloves and put on his football boots to represent Wolves Community Radio (WCR) FM in the Wolves Content Creators Cup. The event raised a total of ÂŁ8,320.
“I enjoyed playing in the tournament, we had a good team and it was a really fun day but the most important thing was how much we raised,” he added.
“I don’t mind playing football, but I can’t wait back to get in the ring and do what I do best.”
